For nearly fifty years AVM has been ministering to the native people of Alaska in remote villages, equipping believers for Christian service at Alaska Bible Institute and broadcasting hope across Alaska through Christian Radio. 2012 Spiritual Emphasis Week @ ABI

The time was right to center this year’s Spiritual emphasis week on the Person of the Holy Spirit. The three day theme was KNOW-NEED-PROMISE, designed so that students could hear from the staff regarding their encounters with the Holy Spirits’ working in their lives. Worship, Staff Testimonies, Activities and Message Time helped promote each day’s theme. Students were able to enjoy a more relaxed and diversified environment than the typical classroom setting, while openly encountering an often neglected understanding of God’s promised gift.     Alaska Bible Institute (ABI) is a tuition free, non-accredited missions and discipleship center which operates under the Board of Directors of Alaska Village Missions. ABI has been operating since 1965, and its purpose of Biblical teaching and discipleship still stands strong.

    AVM Radio Ministry

    Alaska’s harsh environment and rough terrain can make it difficult to spread the gospel. A creative and effective solution to this problem is by making use of the airwaves. Since 1982, AVM and Moody Broadcasting have teamed up to send the living message of hope from God’s Word to portions of Alaska both on and off the road system.
