ALASKA BIBLE INSTITUTE COMBINES EDUCATION WITH TRANSFORMATION

Alaska Bible Institute uniquely couples theological instruction with intensely practical ministry expertise from Christian leaders, teachers, pastors, and theologians from a wide-range of gospel-focused Christ-centered theological backgrounds. The curriculum, educational philosophy, and atmosphere are unique in that they are both practically oriented and academically rigorous. We continue to equip families, pastors, missionaries, and individuals with a life-fulfilling passion for Christ’s gospel and a genuine love for people.

Alaska Bible Institute (ABI) offers two programs of study. Each year is comprised of two semesters held from September through April. ABI runs in a cohort format where a limited number of students are accepted and go through the courses together. Classes are Monday through Friday from 8:15am to 12:00pm.

ABI is an affiliate of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). As such, it participates in and contributes to collegial and professional development activities of the Association. Affiliate status does not, however, constitute, imply, or presume ABHE accredited status at present or in the future.

BIBLICAL STUDIES PROGRAM

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

In the two-year Biblical Studies Program students are provided with a systematic study of the entire Bible and an understanding of Christian doctrine, while immersing them in an environment that fosters transformation. The curriculum is designed to give the student a well-rounded foundation in the Word of God while fostering a deeper relationship with the Father where they will experience His love, grace, mercy, and truth.

The Internship Program is for students who feel called into Christian service. After completing the Biblical Studies Program, qualifying students have the option to enter into an internship designed to fit their interests and personal strengths. We work with each student to create a custom program to further train and equip for life and ministry.

ALASKA BIBLE INSTITUTE IS A NON-DENOMINATIONAL, EVANGELICAL, FAITH-BASED, BIBLE TRAINING SCHOOL

We stand firmly on the foundation of Scripture (the Bible) and hold it as our ultimate authority. While our staff and faculty may come from different church backgrounds and affiliations this is sure – we are all followers of Jesus Christ and saved by His glorious grace. Applicants having strong opinions on doctrines that have historically been controversial (i.e. having caused division in the Church) need to be sure that they can “agree to disagree”.

  • The plenary inspiration and infallibility of the Word of God
  • The eternal existence of one infinite God in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • The deity, virgin birth, sinless life, vicarious atonement, physical resurrection, and pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ
  • The universal depravity of man and necessity of salvation through the atoning blood of the Redeemer at Calvary
  • God established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman
  • The regenerating and indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit producing the fruit of a transformed life and imparting spiritual gifts
  • The physical resurrection of all men--The Saints to everlasting joy and the lost to everlasting conscious torment
  • The commission to the church to live in purity and to spread the Gospel throughout the world while awaiting the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ

ALASKA BIBLE INSTITUTE JOYFULLY SERVES THE NATIVE VILLAGES OF ALASKA

Through the local community and short-term mission trips to remote Alaskan native villages students will have the opportunity to grow in their ability to meet the needs of others while learning to work with others. Imagine flying hundreds of miles across snow covered mountains and glaciers in a small bush plane, then landing on a gravel airstrip in a native village. An average village will have between 100 and 300 residents living isolated from the city and many of its comforts. These villages are known to have astronomical alcoholism, suicide and abuse rates. Many villages today still have no functioning church, no pastor, no Biblical teaching and no one to turn to in times of need.

You might wonder why the believers in these villages do not just go to a nearby town or city that has a church. The problem is that these small communities are “off the road system” and have no roads connecting them to the outside world. The nearest town or village with a church could be many miles away. In addition, these villages are only accessible by small aircraft, and many times weather and logistics can affect scheduled air travel.

Each of these native villages are filled with people in need of the Savior. Would you be willing to live in a cold and isolated environment to plant a church in a community that has no Christian influence? Maybe you would like to pastor an existing church that is currently sitting empty. Villages are in desperate need of Biblical counselors and Christian leaders! God may be calling you to a beautiful people in need of the hope that only Christ can give.
