SKIP BOWERSOX


Class of: 1998


Skip moved to Homer from Michigan in 1996 to attend Alaska Bible Institute where he also met his wife, Erin. He enjoys teaching and applying God’s Word both as a pastor at Church on the Rock in Homer and part-time teacher at ABI. MORE BIOS

 
 
 

SCOTT BROWN


Class of: 1987


Scott is a Jewish believer in Jesus who has been sharing the Good News of the Messiah with Jewish people for the past 25 years. Raised in a traditional Jewish home in the suburbs of Washington D.C., Scott entered full time missionary service with Chosen People Ministries in 1988 and planted Son of David Congregation (SODC) in Maryland, which later birthed another messianic congregation - Sar Shalom Fellowship - in Northern Virginia. After 19 fruitful years of pastoral leadership at SODC, Scott, along with his wife Marjorie and four of their seven children, moved to the south island of New Zealand where Scott is serving as National Director of Celebrate Messiah New Zealand. IAN BULTMAN


Class of: 1994


Ian served on staff from 1995 - 1998 teaching choir, music theory, and church history.  Ian is the creator, writer, and producer of The Brinkman Adventures audio drama. He also serves as Pastor of Worship Arts at Alliance Bible Church in Mequon, Wisconsin. Ian and his wife, Amy, have been married 23 years, have ten children, and home school the nine still living at home (their oldest is married with her own little girl). Ian is passionate about using audio drama to help inspire and teach the next generation of believers. MORE BIOS

 
 
 

SARAH BULTMAN


Class of: 2007


Sarah has worked in various mission related ministries since attending Alaska Bible Institute. While in missions she spent her time in very poor areas doing church planting and setting up child sponsorship programs. Sarah has a passion to see people set free and knowing Jesus, as well as a heart to encouraging missionaries who are on the field. She is currently working as a writer for the Brinkman Adventures, an audio drama that tells current day missionary stories. She traces her path into missions back to ABI, and although she never beat Pastor Ray in ping pong, she loved every one of the five years she spent there. MORE BIOS

 
 
 

MARK HALPIN


Class of: 1989


Mark has been active for 25 years in church and leadership with an emphasis on teaching and preaching to compel the church to disciple making. He co-founded Intentional, a discipleship catalyst , to provide the opportunity and education to create and connect disciples word wide. He is currently serving as CEO of Prodigy Medical, South Peninsula Professional Services and Global Occupational Medicine. Mark and his wife, Isabel, have two children , Javan and Kirsten. JONATHAN WALKER


Class of: 1997


Jonathan is the Lead Pastor of Church on the Rock—a multi-site church in the Mat-Su Valley of Alaska. Jonathan first moved to Homer, Alaska twenty-two years ago to attend ABI. Jonathan and his wife, Kitri, have taught at the ABI; hosted conferences for parents and teens in Alaska and the "lower forty-eight"; youth pastored; and in 2008 co-planted Church on the Rock in Homer, Alaska with Aaron and Jenny Weisser. The Walkers have four amazing children—Caleb, Adlen, Katie, and Olivia and currently live in the Wasilla, Alaska. MORE BIOS

 
 
 

AARON WEISSER


Class of: 1998


Aaron is a former commercial fisherman and carpenter turned church-planter, pastor, speaker, and writer, in Homer, Alaska, where he resides with his wife, Jenny, and their six children. Aaron has ministry degrees from Alaska Bible Institute, Moody Bible Institute, and Columbia International University, and serves full time at Church on the Rock Homer. MORE BIOS

 
 
 

RANDY WEISSER


Class of: 1975


Randy, moved to Homer from Kodiak in 1972 to attend ABI. After accepting the Lord during his first month at ABI in 1973 Randy married during the summer of his first and second year. They both worked at ABI until 1985 until they became full-time missionaries and moved to the Philippines in 1989. As the former Executive Director for Resources for the Blind since 1990 Randy accepted the Executive Director position at Alaska Village Missions. Randy and Marla have 14 children.MORE BIOS

 
 
 

PAUL WIIG


Class of: 1986


Paul was born and raised to missionary parents in India. After high school, he finished the two year course at ABI and then completed a missions course at Biola University. In 1987 Paul returned to begin ministry in the same area where his parents were serving. In 1991 he married Caroline and they started Outreach MAP. Through this they care for many orphan and needy children. They also train and send nationals to plant churches among the most unreached people groups. They are blessed with three daughters and a son. MORE BIOS
